Located at the utmost eastern shore of Lake Geneva, Villeneuve is a historic and restful town. Its quays teem with lakeside terraces, where perch fillets and local wines are served.
Located close to the Rhone delta, the Grangette Nature Reserve with its marshes, reedy marshes and ponds preserves the wild shores of Lake Geneva. Grangette is a favourite with birds and migrating birds: 260 species have been observed there. The birds also make the most of the gigantic plane tree thriving on the rocky outcrop off the shore of Villeneuve, on the romantic Ile de Peilz.
Located near the town and the motorway exit, countless supermarkets and an outlet store sell merchandise and branded clothes at very attractive prices.
On two Saturdays a month, Place de la Gare is the venue of the "open-boot" private second-hand market. Filled with odds and ends as well as treasures, the open-boot cars attract crowds in a friendly atmosphere.
